Item #3563
Yosco Colossus Model Guitar Banjo, c. 1920, made in N.Y. City, natural varnish finish, laminated maple neck and rim, rosewood fingerboard.
One of the wildest banjo creations we have seen in a long time! This very long-scale banjo guitar has a huge partially hollow chambered rim, the subject of Yosco's 1919 patent. This is a fairly fancy banjo, certainly the most unique of the few Yosco instruments we have seen. All hail the mighty Colossus!
Overall length is 39 1/4 in. (99.7 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) diameter head, and 3 1/8 in. (7.9 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 27 1/4 in. (692 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).
Appears all original except head and bridge. Some light wear and seam repairs, but overall very nice. Excellent Condition.
