Item #4402

Wayne Henderson OM-28K Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1978), made in Rugby, Virginia, sunburst top, natural back and sides finish, sitka spruce top with koa back & sides, blond tolex hard shell case.

This is an early and rather unusual guitar from a man considered one of the world's finest of traditional style modern luthiers: Wayne Henderson of Rugby, VA. This OM-28 style guitar was custom designed for the original owner with some distinctly non-OM features: a slotted headstock and wide fingerboard in the style of Martins 1920s instruments.

Deluxe trim with herringbone top binding and fancy pearl headstock and fingerboard inlay. The back and sides are beautiful koa wood, an extremely unusual choice for an OM as well. The sound is incisive yet extremely resonant, and the guitar plays effortlessly with a most responsive feel. A unique and very special guitar.

Overall length is 40 1/16 in. (101.8 cm.), 15 1/4 in. (38.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 7/8 in. (48 mm.).

Very fine overall; minimal signs of play and no damage or repairs. An incredibly well-preserved guitar. Excellent + Condition.
