Item #2551
W. A. Cole Mandolin Banjo, c. 1918, made in Boston, black varnish finish, maple rim, mahogany neck.
A very late W.A. Cole instrument, from around the WWI era. Bright and full-sounding; not the classiest Cole instrument of all time, but a nice playing banjo-mando from a major American banjomaker.
Overall length is 22 3/4 in. (57.8 cm.), 9 15/16 in. (25.2 cm.) diameter head, and 2 3/8 in. (6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 13 1/2 in. (343 mm.).
Appears all original except for period replacement tuners. Tailpiece cover is missing; some wear to varnish on bottom of rim. Otherwise, excellently preserved. Very Good + Condition.
