Vox Super Lynx Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1966), made in Italy, sunburst polyester finish, laminated maple body and neck, ebony fingerboard.
One of Vox's less original designs, the Super Lynx owes an obvious debt to Gibson's ES-335 family. This guitar, like all similar Vox hollowbodies was built in Italy; it features a bolt-on maple neck with pearloid block inlay in an ebony fingerboard, a multi-bound sunburst body and typical early-pattern Vox pickups. The body is fully hollow like an ES-330 and the sound is brighter than the typical Gibson. A surprizingly good player and a fairly cool example of a mid-'60's Vox.
Overall length is 42 in. (106.7 cm.), 15 7/8 in. (40.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 in. (635 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). All original finish with some typical heavy checking to the polyester overcoat; some dings and chips mostly to the edges. All original hardware except for a modern floating tune-o-matic bridge replacement and an added jackplete to the rim. Overall Very Good + Condition.
