Item #6044
Vox Super Ace Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1965), made in Dartford, Kent, England, blue Polyester finish, hardwood body, sycamore neck with rosewood fingerboard, original grey hard shell case.
Overall length is 36 3/4 in. (93.3 cm.), 12 1/4 in. (31.1 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/8 in. (3.5 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). All original finish and hardware, fairly clean overall with no alterations. There is some typical checking to the finish but hardly any wear. Like many UK-made Vox guitars the fretwork is marginal, but the neck is quite straight and the guitar is relatively playable despite this. The pickups are JMI's higher-grade units and are straight copies of c.1962 Fender Stratocaster colis-this is an amazingly good sounding guitar for its rather unassuming appearance. Includes the original Italian case, marking this as one sold in the US in 1965, before Italian production was up to speed. Overall Excellent - Condition.
