Vega Hollow Body Electric Mandolin, c. 1940, made in Boston, Mass., natural lacquer finish, laminated maple body, maple neck with ebony fingerboard, original brown hard shell case.
Overall length is 25 1/4 in. (64.1 cm.), 9 9/16 in. (24.3 cm.) width, and 2 1/8 in. (5.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 13 3/4 in. (349 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/8 in. (29 mm.). Appears all original except for the knobs and an added strap button at the tailpiece. Pickguard is missing. There is some overall finish wear, the instrument appears to have been exposed to moisture at some point but no major damage. Very good playing condition, a good sounding and historically interesting early electric mandolin. Overall Very Good + Condition.
