Item #2829

Vega Electric Model Guitar Banjo (1923), made in Boston, natural varnish finish, maple neck and rim, ebony fingerboard, black tolex original hard shell case.

A rare and beautiful early Vega guitar banjo with the 'electric' tone ring, giving a more old-timey sound than the fancier Tu-Ba-Phone. This is an all-original example with an original hard shell case in excellent playing condition.

While not top-of the line, this 'Electric' Guitar Banjo is made to the very high standard of all Vega instruments from the 1920's and is quite a rare itemof all the Vega "Guit-jo's' this is the model we have seen the least of. A great instrument for ragtime, string band music, and early jazz.

Overall length is 35 1/2 in. (90.2 cm.), 12 in. (30.5 cm.) diameter head, and 2 1/2 in. (6.4 cm.) deep. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.).

All original, including the original non-geared banjo tuners and a fabulous original hard case. Excellent + Condition.
