Item #8199

The Flatiron 3MC Bouzouki Model Octave Mandolin (1994), made in Bozeman, Montana, serial # 411709, natural finish, spruce top, mahagony neck, maple back and sides, black tolex hard shell case.

Overall length is 35 in. (88.9 cm.), 12 in. (30.5 cm.) across at the widest point, and 2 3/4 in. (7 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 23 1/2 in. (597 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/2 in. (38 mm.).

Very clean overall with only some very light wear, this is a lovely example of this typically great-sounding instrument. Whether you call it an "Irish Bouzouki" or "Octave Mandolin" (which is what Flatiron termed it), this long-necked 8-string offers a loud, punchy, but still warm tone and excellent playability. We think the Flatiron Company of Bozeman, Montana made the best instruments of this type and this is a near-perfect almost 25-year old US-built example, complete in its high grade HSC. Excellent + Condition.
