Item #3348

Prestige Model Solid Body Electric Guitar, most likely made by Teisco, c. 1966, made in Japan, sunburst lacquer finish.

A typical "Catalog" solidbody of the sort nearly all US jobbers were offering in the mid-1960's. This one features four pickups, a very Burns-like black-to-red sunburst finish to the slightly eccentrically shaped body, and a switch-laden tortoise plastic pickguard. The neck is bound with dot inlay in a rosewood fingerboard.

It looks to be a product of the Teisco factory in Japan, like many of the guitars sold in the US during the second half of the 1960's. The gold "Prestige" logo pinned to the headstock is likely the distributor's brand name. This is a good quality guitar of its type, with a typically funky snarly tone.

Overall length is 39 1/2 in. (100.3 cm.), 13 in. (33 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/8 in. (2.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 1/2 in. (622 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).

Light average finish wear with several large dings to the edges, but the face is very clean. All original except whammy bar; tailpiece cover and neckplate are missing, and there are two extra strap button holes in the body in the neck heel area. Very Good + Condition.
