Item #7768

Supro Studio Four Model Lap Steel Electric Guitar (1964), made in Chicago, serial # G20359, red lacquer finish, hardwood body, original two-tone chipboard case.

Bright shiny red, with a single black-anodized pickup unit-the Supro Studio Four was geared towards the dwindling studio market for teaching kids Hawaiian guitar in 1964. It retailed at $49.99 (plus ten bucks for the case) and having been built in the year of the Beatles is fairly rare today compared to its 1940's ancestors. Very cool, light and great sounding, still a great deal in a vintage steel!

Overall length is 32 in. (81.3 cm.), 8 1/2 in. (21.6 cm.) width, and 1 9/16 in. (4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 23 in. (584 mm.). Width of nut is 2 in. (51 mm.). All original with some light wear, just some dings and chips to the finish. All original except one of the four screws securing the top of the pickup assembly is missing, but this does not cause any functional issues. This is a dead simple but great sounding steel, with the one-piece pickup unit much coveted for "CooderCaster" conversions. Overall Excellent Condition.
