Item #5033
Slingerland May-Bell Model Banjo Ukulele, c. 1928, made in Chadds Ford, PA, natural mahogany finish, laminated mahogany rim, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard.
Overall length is 21 3/4 in. (55.2 cm.), 8 in. (20.3 cm.) diameter head, and 2 3/4 in. (7 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/4 in. (32 mm.). All original (well, new bridge and strings!) and fairly well played but unaltered with no repairs. The original head (marked Slingerland Bros. Whitemount Calf) is still intact, somewhat yellowed and spotted but with the signatures of some 1920's folks on the underside so we have kept it on the uke. Excellent sound and playability, a good example of Slingerland's better output. Overall Very Good + Condition.
