Item #3274
Banjo Ukulele, most likely made by Slingerland, c. 1926, made in Chicago, natural lacquer finish, laminated maple neck and rim.
A well-made if unlabeled banjo-uke, almost certainly a Slingerland product. Maple neck with center laminate strip, ebony (or very nicely ebonized!) fingerboard with three small pearl dot inlays, square ebony cap on heel, heavy banjo-style friction tuners. Maple rim with inlaid pinstriping and ebonized bottom edge, heavy hoop, and good grade hardware. Unmarked no-knot style tailpiece. A substantial instrument with a very nice tone.
Overall length is 21 1/2 in. (54.6 cm.), 7 5/8 in. (19.4 cm.) diameter head, and 2 3/4 in. (7 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 13 1/4 in. (336 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/4 in. (32 mm.).
All original (newer bridge) with only minor wear. Plays and sounds very well. Excellent Condition.
