Item #8139
Banjo Ukulele, most likely made by Slingerland, c. 1925, made in Chicago, natural finish, laminated maple neck and rim.
Overall length is 21 in. (53.3 cm.), 7 1/2 in. (19 cm.) diameter head, and 2 1/2 in. (6.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 13 in. (330 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/16 in. (33 mm.).
This inexpensive but well-made unbranded banjo-uke likely dates to the early/mid-1920s and is almost certainly a product of Chicago's Slingerland factory. It shows some light wear overall but remains an eminently playable piece of Vo-De-O-Do history. Excellent - Condition.
