Item #4177
Slingerland Banjo Ukulele, c. 1925, made in Chicago, natural varnish finish, maple neck and rim.
A nice example of a typical earlier 1920's-style blonde Slingerland banjo uke. Natural figured maple finish overall, maple fingerboard with pearl dot inlay; 7" closed back rim with burl maple veneer arched resonator plate. "Slingerland" 3-color decal logo on back of headstock and the nickel tailpiece is marked with the Slingerland script logo. Quite loud and bright sounding; a very snappy player.
Overall length is 20 1/2 in. (52.1 cm.), 7 in. (17.8 cm.) diameter head, and 2 3/4 in. (7 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/4 in. (32 mm.).
Some general wear overall; all original except bridge and recent skin head. Very Good + Condition.
