Roy Rogers Cowboy Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar, c. 1954, made in USA, sunburst lacquer with stenciling finish, birch body.
The classic cowboy guitar. A small 3/4 6-string flat top; stamped inside soundhole is "Copyright 1954 Roy Rogers Enterprises sold under license". Original Kluson strip tuners and screwed-down string-thru bridge. Stencil in yellow of Roy's face and signature on headstock. Stenciling on front of body: standing Trigger and Roy playing guitar and singing around campfire and a larger signature.
Overall length is 32.75 in. (83.2 cm.), 11.25 in. (28.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3.25 in. (8.2 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 21.5 in. (546 mm.).
Very good displayable condition and actually plays better than many of these. All original except nut; noticeable wear to edge paint. Several repaired back cracks, one hairline under bridge and one short crack off soundhole.
