Rickenbacker Model 360 Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1967), made in Santa Ana, CA, Fireglow red sunburst finish, maple body and neck, black gig bag case.
A great-playing example of one of the classic American 1960s guitars, and the mainstay of Rickenbacker's line from the late 1950s to the present. The round-edge (post-1964) Model 360 is virtually an icon of the 1960s, and is synonymous to many with the music and sounds of that era, as well as more recent styles. These are one of the sharpest looking and most distinctive sounding vintage designs.
This Model 360 has had some major work done and is a relative bargain as a "playing" vintage guitar, while sacrificing none of the "cool" factor. At some point, a newer (correct vintage style) headstock has been spliced to the neck at the third fret, and the neck refinished.
The original fingerboard and frets are undisturbed, and the Kluson tuners and Rickenbacker headplate are original. All body finish and hardware is all original; the neck pickup appears to have been reworked but is in the original casing and sounds great. The pickguard assembly/wiring rig is mostly original with one replaced pot and switch tip.
The vibrant fireglow finish on the checkerboard-backbound body is in excellent condition with minor dings and dents; the neck finish is matched to it extremely well. The guitar plays great and sounds fantastic, and would be a great "gigging" Rickenbacker for anyone who desires the classic sound and look only one of these can provide.
Overall length is 40 in. (101.6 cm.), 15 1/4 in. (38.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) deep. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.).
Excellent overall condition with repairs as noted. The neck splice is a very high-grade professional job. The center laminate on the headpiece section is slightly wider than on the original neck. The nut is replaced, as are the strap buttons.
Set up in fine playing condition. Very Good + Condition.
