Rickenbacker Model 330-12 Model 12 String Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1966), made in Santa Ana, CA, Mapleglo natural finish, maple body, laminated maple neck with paduak fingerboard, original silver hard shell case.
The Rickenbacker Model 330-12 is one of the classic American guitars, a mainstay of the company's line from the mid-1960's right up through to the present. The 330-12, along with the fancier Model 360-12 are virtually icons of the '60's, synonymous to many with the sound of the folk-rock era, as well as more recent styles. These are one of the sharpest looking and most distinctive sounding of all American guitar designs, and kicked off the greatest wave of popularity of the electric 12-string in 1964-5. This 330-12 is in the less common natural "Mapleglo" finish and is a relative bargain as a "playing" vintage guitar, while sacrificing none of the 'cool' factor. This would be a great "gigging" Rickenbacker for anyone who desires the classic sound and look only one of these can provide.
Overall length is 40 in. (101.6 cm.), 14 7/8 in. (37.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 in. (635 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). A good gigging 1960's Rickenbacker 12 String, with some old repairs. There are two old longitudinal cracks on the top under the bridge and treble pickup (more noticeable on the bass side) completely solid but not glued up as cleanly as we might prefer.the bridge bpickup has had some alterations to the baseplate, but both coli and cover appear original. The neck angle is quite shallow but the guitar plays well with the bridge at a low setting. The guitar has been refretted with slightly taller and wider wire than Rick standard, a very good pro job including a proper repro nut. The finish is original Mapleglo with some checking, dings to the top and a polish out and possible overspray around the heel area. All hardware is original and complete (pots and wiring) except the screw-on bridge cover is missing (as usual!) and the center insert is gone from the small blend knob. Comes with a very nice original silver HSC. Generally Very Good + Condition.
