Item #3650

Rickenbacker Jerry Byrd Model 8-String Model High Steel Electric Guitar (1969), made in Los Angeles, California, natural lacquer finish, walnut body, original black hard shell case.

A particularly striking (and great-sounding) Rickenbacker steel guitar; not your average-looking 1960's console! This late Jerry Byrd Model 8-string has a beautifully grained walnut slab body with contrasting padauk end caps and a front edge faced with woven Transonic amp grill cloth. Equipped with Rickenbacker's late 60's faux-horseshoe pickup and a 3-knob control circuit. This guitar really looks like playable Las Vegas lounge furniture and is the perfect instrument for Exotica sounds and Tiki dcor.

Overall length is 32 in. (81.3 cm.), 9 1/2 in. (24.1 cm.) width, and 3 in. (7.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 22 1/2 in. (572 mm.). Width of nut is 2 1/2 in. (64 mm.).
