Item #5251

Rickenbacker Jerry Byrd JB-6 Model High Steel Electric Guitar (1968), made in Santa Ana, CA, serial # HG-1217, natural finish, walnut body, original black tolex hard shell case.

A particularly striking (and great sounding) Rickenbacker steel guitar; not your average console! This late 1960's Jerry Byrd Model 8-string has a beautifully grained walnut slab body with the front edge faced with woven Transonic amp grill cloth. Equipped with Rickenbacker's classic horseshoe pickup and a 3-knob control circuit with dual tone settings, this is a truly great sounding steel. The guitar looks more than anything else like playable Las Vegas lounge furniture and is the perfect instrument for Exotica sounds and Tiki dcor.

Overall length is 32 in. (81.3 cm.), 9 1/4 in. (23.5 cm.) width, and 3 in. (7.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 22 1/2 in. (572 mm.). Width of nut is 2 1/2 in. (64 mm.). Superb condition overall; one spot of plating wear on the pickup magnet and some very small dings but overall a very fine example. Includes the original black HSC fully functional but with some bend to the key latches. Excellent + Condition.
