A particularly striking (and great sounding) Rickenbacker steel guitar; this is not your average console! Built originally for its namesake steel great This early 1960's Jerry Byrd Model 10-string has a beautifully grained walnut slab body with hollow chambers inside and the front edge faced with woven gold/brown amp grill cloth. Equipped with Rickenbacker's classic horseshoe pickup and a 3-knob control circuit with dual tone settings, this is a truly great sounding steel-like a Hawaiian orchestra all by itself. The guitar looks more than anything else like playable Las Vegas lounge furniture and is the perfect instrument for Exotica sounds and Tiki d�cor.
Overall length is 32 in. (81.3 cm.), 9 1/4 in. (23.5 cm.) width, and 3 in. (7.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 22 1/2 in. (572 mm.). Width of nut is 3 in. (76 mm.). Superb original condition; just some light wear and dings. There is no damage or any alterations except the original owner's name ("Greg") added to the front edge on a lucite plaque with gold mailbox letters. This could be removed leaving only two small screw holes in the fabric. A superb and beautiful example of this rare steel, complete with a nice OHSC. Excellent Condition.
