Item #813
Regal Victory Model Soprano Ukulele, c. 1942, made in Chicago, Paint with stenciling finish, Birch body and neck.
This W.W.II-era ukulele is painted blue with red and white stenciled patriotic decorations including bomber squadrons, a bald eagle, and "V" for victory.
The same basic birch uke was offered before the war in various festive paint schemes, but after Pearl Harbor the college decorations and such must have seemed a bit frivolous! This is a relatively rare variation on the decorated ukulele theme and a great piece of Americana.
Overall length is 20 7/8 in. (53 cm.), 6 3/4 in. (17.1 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 3/8 in. (6 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 13 in. (330 mm.).
Generally excellent structural condition no cracks or seperations, not currently set up with pegs or strings. Some light wear and paint chipping (these finishes are pretty basic) but little play wear.
Fine displayable condition, can be set up to play if desired. Sold as is, condition as described.
