Item #4221

Regal Soprano Ukulele (early 1960's), made in Chicago, natural lacquer finish, Genuine mahogany body and neck; rosewood fingerboard, black tolex soft shell case.

A very nice soprano uke from the early 1960's; although branded Regal, this was actually made by Harmony and sold by Fender! Fender sales had a distribution deal with the Chicago company for some years in the earlier 1960's and sold these instruments to their chain of dealers (and in the educational market) alongside products from Fender itself.

This is a very well-made uke (a cut above most cheaper Harmony models) and has nice Honduras mahogany used throughout, with a particularly attractive Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. There is a neat period "Genuine Mahogany" sticker on the rear of the headstock. One of the nicer 60's ukes we have seen.

Overall length is 21 3/8 in. (54.3 cm.), 7 in. (17.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 3/8 in. (6 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 13 in. (330 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/2 in. (38 mm.).

Practically perfect condition with little sign of ever being played. Very nice tone; a surprisingly fine little uke. Near Mint Condition.
