Item #4556
Orpheum Arch Top Mandolin, c. 1940's, probably Chicago, natural top, dark back and sides finish, maple back and sides, spruce top; maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original soft shell case.
Overall length is 25 3/8 in. (64.5 cm.), 10 1/4 in. (26 cm.) wide, and 1 15/16 in. (4.9 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 13 3/4 in. (349 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/4 in. (32 mm.). Some finish wear and flaking (especially around the headstock) overall the finish is a bit cloudy but solid. Missing pickguard and tailpiece cover, otherwise complete and original. Set up very well, straight neck and good original frets. An amazingly good-sounding mandolin for such an inexpensive instrument...this one smokes some Gibsons! Overall Very Good + Condition.
