Item #2617
National Triolian Model Resophonic Mandolin (1930), made in Los Angeles, California, brown sunburst enamel finish, steel body, basswood neck, black tolex original chipboard case.
A great example of an early National Triolian Mandolin, complete with a photograph of the original owner playing the instrument in the 1930's. This is one of the loudest mandolins you will ever hear, and has a surprisingly rich bell-like tone.
Perfect for ragtime and jugband styles, and the perfect match to any walnut finish Triolian guitar.
Overall length is 28 in. (71.1 cm.), 12 3/4 in. (32.4 cm.) width, and 2 5/8 in. (6.7 cm.) deep. Scale length is 15 in. (381 mm.).
Very clean with some typical wear to the body paint, but the finish is still shiny and overall this is one of the nicest Triolian instruments we have had. Just out of the shop with a neckset, new fingerboard, and frets.
Otherwise all original including cone and biscut, with a wonderful original shaped case. Excellent Condition.
