Item #2684

National Triolian Model Resophonic Guitar, c. 1930, made in Los Angeles, California, Polychrome enamel with stenciling finish, steel body, maple neck, black tolex chipboard case.

A good-playing early 1930's Polychrome Triolian, well-used and "blues approved". Many early features"Patent Applied" on headstock, coverplate with no ribs; painted maple neck and fingerboard. Dark mustard yellow/green body finish, brighter yellow coverplate with orange accents, and crisply-executed Hawaiian scene on back.

Well-suited to either finger or slide playing; a good value in a vintage resonator guitar.

Overall length is 38 1/2 in. (97.8 cm.), 14 1/4 in. (36.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 1/4 in. (8.2 cm.) deep. Scale length is 25 in. (635 mm.).

Excellent playing condition with average finish wear. Typical chipping to coverplate and edges; painted fingerboard shows wear down its length. Neck has been reset (very good job), and cone, biscuit, and tuners are replaced; otherwise, appears original.

Sounds very gooddeeper and less harsh than many steel bodied Nationals. Very Good + Condition.
