Item #1423
National Style 0 Model Resophonic Guitar (1932), made in Los Angeles, nickel plated finish, brass body, maple neck.
A great-playing 12-fret Style O, this guitar has had some recent set-up work but remains substantially original and sounds great. This is a brass-bodied guitar with flat-cut f-holes, variation #4 as per the Brozman book, with the sandblasted pattern on the back featuring a single palm tree but numerous clouds in the starry sky!
Maple neck with single-bound dyed maple (ebonized) fingerboard with the "ivory" grain in the binding running the wrong waytypical of National in this era!
Overall length is 38 3/4 in. (98.4 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 1/4 in. (8.2 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/4 in. (641 mm.).
Very fine overall; has been refretted expertly with some minor patching to worn spots in the fingerboard at the first few frets. The finish on the back of the neck is worn off (or removed) from the nut to the tenth fret. Original tuners, cone, nut, binding etconly the frets were affected. Strap button added to neck heel. Body finish has normal scratching and light pitting, some playwear on the coverplate and body adjacent to the high E string - worn through to the brass only on the 2 o'clock coverplate rib. Excellent Condition.
