Item #4082
National Dynamic Model Lap Steel Electric Guitar (1954), made in Chicago, black and white two-tone finish, maple body.
A super stylish lap steel from the colorful early 1950's era at Valco, this National Dynamic is not only striking to look at but great-sounding as well. The wooden body consists of two side sections with control knobs mounted on black plastic plates pegged to an elongated centerpiece carrying the pickup and strings.
This guitar sports a host of other flashy touches including a 2-tone finish, a dramatic colorful geometric pattern fingerboard, enameled metal headstock nameplate, tuners covered with oblong "National" stamped plates, and a metal pickup assembly mounted under a black Lucite cover. Beyond making a fantastic visual statement, this National Dynamic has a singing sound to match!
Length is 32 1/4 in. (81.9 cm.), 6 1/4 in. (15.9 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/8 in. (3.5 cm.) in depth at side. Scale length is 23 in. (584 mm.). Width of nut is 2 in. (51 mm.).
Some wear and light discoloration to finish, but overall a nice example. Tuner buttons appear replaced, otherwise all original. Generally Excellent Condition.
