Item #6354
Mike Ramsey Chanterelle Woody Model Model 5 String Banjo, c. 2000, made in Appomattox, VA, shaded maple finish, laminated maple rim and neck, bubinga wood tone ring, ebony fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.
Overall length is 37 1/4 in. (94.6 cm.), 12 in. (30.5 cm.) diameter head, and 3 in. (7.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 26 in. (660 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/8 in. (35 mm.). All original but wirh some light playwear (notably to the head) and visible corrosion to the plating (looks like it's been to a few festivals!) but no damage, repair or finish loss. A wonderful sounding example of this unusual Farland-pattern banjo, which has a beveled 12" wood rim instead of any metal tone ring. This makes for a wonderful frailer, quite unlike most modern banjos and like all Mike Ramsey instruments beautifully made. Excellent Condition.
