Masaru Kohno Model #15 Model Classical Guitar (1976), made in Tokyo, Japan, natural lacquer finish, Indian rosewood back and sides, Sitka spruce top; laminated Spanish cedar and ebony neck, ebony fingerboard, original brown hard shell case.
Overall length is 39 1/2 in. (100.3 cm.), 14 1/2 in. (36.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 7/8 in. (9.8 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 26 in. (660 mm.). Width of nut is 2 1/8 in. (54 mm.). An absolutely splendid example of a 1970's era concert instrument by Japan's most esteemed luthier, Masaru Kohno. Except for a few small filled in dings to the top by the back edge and some very light schffing this guitar looks virtually near new. The sound is quite deep and balanced, and this is a lovely piece of Kohno's work, now aged nearly 40 years. Includes the original alligator-grain HSC. Excellent + Condition.
