Item #3818

Manuel Velazquez Classical Guitar (1971), made in New York, French polish finish, pao ferro back and sides, German spruce top, Spanish cedar neck with ebony fingerboard, original black hard shell case.

Hand signed and dated by the maker, "ano 1971". This would be one of the last New York-made Velasquez instruments, as he returned to Puerto Rico the next year. This is a typically elegant Velasquez guitar in his very traditional Hauser-inspired mode. A particularly nice instrument from one of the late 20th century's most esteemed luthiers.

Overall length is 39 in. (99.1 cm.), 14 1/2 in. (36.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 in. (10.2 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 5/8 in. (651 mm.). Width of nut is 2 3/16 in. (56 mm.).

All original with some minor play wear to the top and back of the neck. Excellent Condition.
