Item #3238
Manuel de la Chica Classical Guitar (1967), made in Granada, Spain, French polish finish, Brazillian rosewood body, spruce top, cedar neck with ebony fingerboard, black hard shell case.
This is a beautiful Spanish-made concert guitar by a known if somewhat under-celebrated luthier. This 40 year old guitar is built of beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood, with a lovely close-grained spruce top. This is a very traditional instrument with all wooden bindings, a deeply colorful rosette, and De La Chica's distinctive headstock with a seperated peak. This is a very high-grade concert instrument with a warm, rich sound.
Overall length is 39 in. (99.1 cm.), 14 1/2 in. (36.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 7/8 in. (9.8 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 26 1/4 in. (667 mm.). Width of nut is 2 in. (51 mm.).
Excellent playing condition; some noticeable play wear to finish, especially on the upper back bass bout. One small repaired back crack, otherwise all original and unaltered.
