Mystic Model 5 String Banjo, most likely made by Lyon & Healy, c. 1905, made in Chicago, spunover rim, poplar neck with ebony fingerboard.
Overall length is 35 1/4 in. (89.5 cm.), 10 5/8 in. (27 cm.) diameter head, and 2 3/8 in. (6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 26 1/2 in. (673 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/2 in. (38 mm.). A nice player, appears unaltered except for newer (1960's) geared tuners, plastic head and one replaced hook. Moderate wear overall but well preserved for 0ver 100 years old. A cool and attractive old openback 5-string. Generally Excellent Condition.
