Item #2740
Ludwig Wendell Hall Professional Model Banjo Ukulele, c. 1929, made in Chicago, natural lacquer finish, walnut resonator and neck, ebony fingerboard, black tolex original hard shell case.
One of the classic banjo-ukes of the 1920's, and one of the most sought-after.
Overall length is 22 1/4 in. (56.5 cm.), 7 3/4 in. (19.7 cm.) diameter head, and 2 7/8 in. (7.3 cm.) deep. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.).
Completely original except a new skin head, including case (with Ludwig badge), bridge, and head tightening wrench. Some wear to the finish on the back of the neck in the second and third fret area (probably from a capo) and some flaking to the finish on the heelcapotherwise, as nice as we have seen for one of these.
Green-corduroy-lined Ludwig case is very nice but has a new handle; original is included but non-functional. Excellent + Condition.
