Old Kraftsman Kay Kraft Style A Model Arch Top Mandolin, made by Kay, c. 1932, made in Chicago, sunburst lacquer with stenciling finish, mahogany body, spruce top; poplar neck with ebonized fingerboard, original brown canvas soft shell case.
Overall length is 26 1/2 in. (67.3 cm.), 10 in. (25.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 1/2 in. (6.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/8 in. (29 mm.). Extremely well preserved, all original, a super nice example with very little wear anywhere. All stenciling still intact, finish clean, complete including the rare original Bakelite bridge and oft-missing tailpiece cover. About as nice as these come, complete with the original canvas case. Excellent + Condition.
