Oahu "All American" Jumbo #71K Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar, made by Kay, c. 1938, made in Chicago, sunburst lacquer with stenciling finish, maple body, spruce top, mahogany neck.
This big-body 12 fret Oahu is an excellent conversion from Hawaiian to Spanish style. Sounds and plays very nicely with a big powerful sound.
This guitar originally sold for $98.00, quite a sum in the late 1930's.
Overall length is 40 in. (101.6 cm.), 15 3/4 in. (40 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/16 in. (10.3 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 13/16 in. (46 mm.).
General wear overall; one tuner button replaced. Neck well rounded out.
A very good player. Very Good + Condition.
