Item #5801

Kay K-70 Venetian Model Arch Top Mandolin, c. 1939, made in Chicago, sunburst lacquer finish, laminated maple body, spruce top; maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black chipboard case.

Overall length is 26 1/2 in. (67.3 cm.), 10 in. (25.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 9/16 in. (6.5 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/8 in. (29 mm.). Appears all original except for a more recent bridge; some scratches to the top but overall a nice example. Has had a neck set at some point; plays well, one of Kay's nicer 8-string creations. Overall Excellent - Condition.
