Item #5007
Airline P-3 Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar, made by Kay, c. 1961, made in Chicago, natural lacquer finish, laminated maple body; maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original two-tone chipboard case.
Overall length is 40 3/4 in. (103.5 cm.), 15 in. (38.1 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 3/4 in. (654 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Very nice overall. Not much play or handling wear, missing the pickguard and the lever switch is a repro but otherwise original and complete. Small cracks at the corners or the pickup mounting rings, no other notable damage. Quite a good playing guitar (for a Kay) with a excellent sound from the 3 "Kleenex Box" pickups. A cool example of Kay's better work, with the original 2-tone chipboard case. Generally Excellent Condition.
