Item #6510

Winston Model 449 Model Solid Body Electric Guitar, most likely made by Kawai, c. 1964, made in Japan, gold lacquer finish, hardwood body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, original black chipboard case.

Overall length is 37 1/2 in. (95.2 cm.), 12 in. (30.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/8 in. (3.5 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 23 1/2 in. (597 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).

Good shape overall, with some checking, some spots of wear and chipping, and a couple of stains to the finish. All original and complete (including the oft-missing vibrato arm), except the logo has gone missing from the headstock. A decent-playing guitar; as with all of these, the frets are less than perfect, but the neck is fairly straight and "Louie Louie" comes out fine! A sharp-looking example of a fairly early "Japanese invasion" guitar. Includes the original case and strap, both in functional shape if quite cheaply made. Excellent - Condition.
