Item #6156
Kalamazoo KG-21 Model Arch Top Acoustic Guitar (1937), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 384C-53, sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, mahogany back, sides and neck; spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, hard shell case.
Overall length is 39 7/8 in. (101.3 cm.), 14 3/4 in. (37.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/2 in. (11.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.). Extremely fine condition, if not for a few pick scratches to the top this guitar would look more like a year old than nearly eighty! The finish is still shiny, tailpiece plating perfect and only minimal checking. No repairs; there is one tiny veneer crack on the back by the edge but really to see a depression-era instrument in this kind of condition is a rare event these days. Recently set up with a new bone nut and excellent modern repro tuners; the original saddle had an added compensation. An exceptionally nice example of this model; as good sounding and playing Kalamazoo small-body archtop as we hav ever has, complete with a modern HSC. Excellent + Condition.
