K & F Lap Steel Electric Guitar (1945-6), made in Fullerton, California, natural varnish finish, one piece mahogany body.
One of the very earliest Fender instruments, and a major historic piece of American guitar history. This plain and unassuming steel is Leo's first commercially produced instrument and the seed from which the Fender company would grow.
These instruments were only available locally in California for a very limited period between November 1945 and mid-1946, and are extremely rare.
Overall length is 28 3/4 in. (73 cm.), 5 3/4 in. (14.6 cm.) width, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) deep. Scale length is 22 1/4 in. (565 mm.). Very Good + Condition.
