Ibanez Tube Screamer Pro TS-808 Model Overdrive Pedal Effect, c. 1980, made in Japan, serial # 145104, green enamel finish. The Tube Screamer from Ibanez is without a doubt not only one of the most influential pedals ever made, but fully a well from which countless pedals have sprung. It all began with the TS-808. Engineer Susumu Tamura developed the original TS808 in 1979 and it wasn't long before the powerful, versatile, yet still affordable pedal became a household name for guitarists looking to get a rich, tube-saturated sound. Handwired by Maxon at the time, the TS-808 features a simple three-knob interfact and small aluminum enclosure, but the magic really centers around the JRC4558 chip and unique op-amp circuit. The TS-808 was eventually replaced by the TS-9 in 1981, and this little 2 year window of TS-808 production surely contributes a bit to its mystique and holy grail status.
Length is 5 in. (12.7 cm.), 2 1/2 in. (6.4 cm.) width, and 2 in. (5.1 cm.) high. Minor scuffing and some paint chips from use but overall very nice clean condition. Two strips of velcro on the bottom which could easily be removed and the battery clip appears replaced; otherwise, this is all original. Excellent Condition.
