Item #3359
Hofner Verithin Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1965), made in Germany, cherry sunburst finish, laminated maple body and spruce top, laminated maple neck with rosewood fingerboard.
Here is an instrument that really lives up to its namethis is indeed a VERY thin electric/acoustic guitar! The Verithin is one of Hofner's more distinctive models from the mid 1960's and a fairly deluxe guitar. The fully hollow body is multiple bound with three "staple" pickups, on/off switches for each, a master volume, and three tone controls. The rosewood fingerboard is single bound with "bar" multiple celluloid strip inlay. The headstock is single bound with a block pearl "Hofner" logo and a floral design. This is a very light and comfortable guitar with a wide range of tone options.
Overall length is 41 1/2 in. (105.4 cm.), 16 5/16 in. (41.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/8 in. (2.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/4 in. (641 mm.).
Overall very nice condition; some general checking and light dings to finish. Pickguard removed, bridge is a 1970's style Gretsch unit, and tailpiece is a simple trapeze replacement. The original vibrato unit is included but missing the arm. All other fittings and hardware are original. Generally Excellent Condition.
