Item #3061

Supertone "Airplane Bridge" Deluxe Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar, made by Harmony, c. 1929, made in Chicago, natural lacquer finish, koa back and sides, spruce top, mahogany neck, original black chipboard case.

This was Sears' fanciest catalog guitar just as the Depression struck, and was offered into the early 1930's. Lovely Koa back and sides; nice spruce top with pearl bordering. Features Harmony's famous "airplane" bridge, used after 1928 on a number of their better instruments.

A lovely and fairly delicate sounding guitar, and an excellent fingerpicking instrument.

Height is 36 7/8 in. (93.7 cm.), 12 3/4 in. (32.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 3/4 in. (9.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 1/4 in. (616 mm.).

Recent neckset; one long top crack, otherwise a very nicely preserved guitar. Overall Excellent Condition.
