Item #6085

Harmony Stratotone Jupiter Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar, c. 1961, made in Chicago, natural top, sunburst back and sides finish, Laminate spruce top, laminate maple back sides and neck, rosewood fingerboard, black chipboard case.

As popularized by Spencer Davis of the Spencer Davis Group, the Harmony Stratotone Jupiter is a fabulous mid level professional guitar. Priced at just a few dollars less than a Fender Esquire, it was quite high end for Harmony. Sporting two DeArmond "Golden Indox" pickups, Harmony advertised: Practically unlimited variations of tone, with simplified technique! Although we cannot quite advertise the pickup circuit as being intuitive, it is fully functional, with a conventional 3-way switch plus an exciting "Blender" control setting. A well preserved, highly playable example!

Overall length is 37 3/4 in. (95.9 cm.), 13 3/16 in. (33.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 11/16 in. (4.3 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 in. (610 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). All original, with one minor repair to the neck tone knob (center of five.) The knob is still functional. Super clean overall and as nice a Stratotone Jupiter as we have ever laid an eye on. Excellent + Condition.
