Item #4562

Stella model H-931 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar, made by Harmony (1964), made in Chicago, sunburst lacquer with stenciling finish, birch body, original brown soft shell case.

America's classic beginner guitar in the 1960's, these little Stellas were sold to thousands of enthusiastic students during the "guitar boom" from 1958-1966. Made by Harmony and sold by everyone, this is a solid birch ladder-braced guitar built to a price; the pickguard is screwed to top and the binding and woodgrain are painted on. This particular guitar appears to have seen very little use since new- it almost perfectly preserved including the original neck cord and case, a neat time capsule and a nice playable piece of '60's nostalgia.

Overall length is 36 1/4 in. (92.1 cm.), 13 1/4 in. (33.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 in. (610 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.). Absolutely original condition, only the most minor tiny finish chips keep this from being labeled near mint. It looks like somebody got this in 1964 and never learned to play! Excellent + Condition.
