Item #4476
Soprano Ukulele, made by Harmony, c. 1950's, made in Chicago, natural finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewod fingerboard.
A fine example of an (unmarked) Harmony ukulele from the 1950's; solid mahogany throughout (marked on the headstock rear with a "Made of genuine mahogany" label). Typical '50's "oblong" plastic tuner buttons, small brass frets, dot inlay. Plain but nicely made.
Overall length is 20 7/8 in. (53 cm.), 6 1/2 in. (16.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 1/2 in. (6.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 13 in. (330 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/2 in. (38 mm.). Very clean, shows hardly any signs of use. One tiny hole (from a thumbtack!) on the back of the neck at the throat. A very good sounding 50's uke. Excellent + Condition.
