Item #4376
Parlor Guitar, made by Harmony, c. 1924, made in Chicago, natural top, dark stained back and sides finish, birch back and sides, spruce top.
A fairly typical Chicago-made parlor guitar with one unusual feature: an adjustable metal bridge to allow easy conversion from Spanish to Hawaiian play. This also gives the guitar an unusually brilliant sound with a lot of high overtones. A neat find in an affordable pre-war player.
Overall length is 36 in. (91.4 cm.), 12 3/4 in. (32.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 3/4 in. (9.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 in. (610 mm.). Width of nut is 1 13/16 in. (46 mm.).
Some wear overall; neck has been reset. A good player with an unusual tone. Overall Excellent Condition.
