Harmony H-35 Model Hollow Body Electric Mandolin, c. 1970, made in Chicago, sunburst lacquer finish, maple body and neck, spruce top, original black soft shell case.
An unusual and fancy styled electric mandolin from the later days of the illustrious Harmony company. Single-bound scooped double cutaway body with eccentrically shaped f-holes; headstock shape mirrors the body.
DeArmond "Golden Tone" pickup with tone and volume controls. Elevated 3-ply pickguard has engraved "Harmony" logo. Headstock logo is also engraved through 3-ply plastic overlay. The bound rosewood fingerboard has pearloid block inlay.
This style of mandolin was the favored instrument of blues mandolin legend Yank Rachell for many years, and one can be seen in numerous pictures of him. This one comes complete in original case with warranty (filled out with detachable card sent in) and instruction manual.
Overall length is 28 5/8 in. (72.7 cm.), 10 1/2 in. (26.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 13/16 in. (4.6 cm.) deep. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.).
Nearly perfect condition with very little wear anywhere. One very small grain crack on the top near the upper waist is the only flaw. Excellent + Condition.
