Item #6560

Harmony H-162 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1960's), made in Chicago, serial # FON 196-H162, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back, sides and and neck, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, original brown chipboard case.

Overall length is 40 1/2 in. (102.9 cm.), 15 1/4 in. (38.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 7/8 in. (9.8 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 in. (635 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.). A good player's example of one of Harmony's 1950's and '60's mainstays, the spruce top H-162 flat top guitar. This one is all original, no major repairs or alterations except the saddle has been lowered slightly. There are dings and scuffs overall but no major finish loss-the outer layer of tortoise celluloid binding shows some deterioration, mostly in a few spots around the top but not affecting playability. This has had a neck set and actually plays very well-at least for a Harmony of this period. This is a very good sounding guitar with a bright and punchy voice, a simple ladder braced flattop solid-wood that is an American classic in its own way! Includes the original chipboard case with a period decoration. Excellent - Condition.
