Guild Starfire IV Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1977), made in Westerly, RI, sunburst lacquer finish, laminated maple body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, original black hard shell case.

The Starfire series has been Guild's most consistently successful electric guitar line since its inception in the early 1960s. This Starfire IV from 1977 is a double cutaway semi-hollow instrument little changed from 1960s models, the main differences being a more stable adjustable bridge mounted on studs, a laminated maple neck with a wide centerpiece, and the larger '70s-style Guild humbucking pickups. Like the Gibson ES-335 series, the Starfire IV has a solid block running through the center of the instrument, cutting down on feedback and giving the guitar a brighter tone.

The wiring is basically Gibson style with the addition of a master volume knob just behind the selector switch. This type of Starfire has been a perennial favorite among players of many styles, and is particularly well thought of as an electric blues instrument. This beautiful dark sunburst example shows few signs of use in its 30+ year history, feeling practically new.

Overall length is 41 5/8 in. (105.7 cm.), 16 5/16 in. (41.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 in. (5.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

Almost no wear; an extremely clean guitar. Plays and sounds very well. Excellent + Condition.
